There is no denying that the world’s largest mammal is going through a turmoil, and as a humanity, it is up to us to ensure that the worst case scenario does not happen. That being said, there are several movements that are trying to protect the animals, but we need to understand that as citizens, we can do a lot more than what some people might tell you in the first place.

There is no harm in being selfless for a few moments and looking at how you can help and prevent the species from going extinct. In this article, I am going tell you about some of the ways you can actually help elephants. Before you go any further, the thing that I would like to tell you that some of the options might seem like they cannot work, but they certainly do in the longer run.

Below you are going to find some ways that you can help elephants, and potentially prevent them from being endangered.

Stop Buying Ivory

This is perhaps the simplest solution there is to stop hurting elephants. If you are not aware, elephant tusks are the main source behind ivory, but the procedure is painful, and leaves the elephants in the world of pain. Now the thing you need to know is that you can still buy ivory through legal channels, and while the process is complicated, it does work. With that said, if you stop buying ivory, it will give a clear message to the dealers, telling that you are siding with the elephants.

Elephant Friendly Coffee is The Way to Go

Another thing that you need to know is that buying elephant friendly coffee is the way to go. Coffee is grown in plantations that end up destroying elephant habitats. However, if you buy certified trade coffee, then I can assure you that your experience will be much better in that regard.

Support The Conservations

One more thing that you could do to save elephants is support conservations. While it is understandable that you can’t go ahead and dedicate your entire life saving elephants, but believe me when I say, supporting the conversations is actually a lot more helpful than you might imagine in the first place.

Adopt an Elephant

Now I know this might be wondering how you can adopt an elephant. The thing you need to know here is that adopting an elephant does not mean you can take the elephant home. What it means is that there are a number of different organizations that offer you to adopt the elephants; the adopted elephants will remain in their care, and they will send you the picture of their elephants. What they want from you in return is the funding that they will then use to take care of the elephants. This is perhaps one of the best things about adopting an elephant, and the best part is that it always works as well. So no worries there.
